My name is Eli Prasit, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Houston, Texas. Like most kids growing up in H-Town, I was determined to find a niche where I could express myself and be different.
Whether that was playing football, boxing, or making videos when picking up my first camera junior year of high school. I was 18 when I started getting into events that were 21+ all because I had my camera in hand, ready to record.
I realized I was not only networking but that I could make good money and still be able to create if I were to take videography seriously. It was barely the start of my second year in college when I decided to take a leap of faith and dropped out to focus on my passion of creating.
Fast forward a couple months, and I now reside in Los Angeles, California as a full-time creative at 21.
How I Got Started With Rene
As for anybody who considers themselves a “creative”, it’s hard to find a consistent job where you can continue to build your craft and make good money. I knew I wanted to be in a workspace where I would spend the majority of my time being able to create.
Ever since I moved to LA, I was working as a freelance videographer and editor landing as many gigs as possible. I had the pleasure of meeting Rene in late November.
At that time I was still networking and trying to find a creative field to work. He actually gave me an opportunity to create a project for him and little did I know that was my internship to see if I’d be hired full time.
Once the new year hit, I was officially hired onto his team. I now have the privilege of producing content such as YouTube videos, various advertisements and graphics as the Visual Content Manager at Lacad LLC.
What It’s Been Like Since I Moved
As a creative, I find myself reminiscing about the experiences I had with a project rather than thinking about the project itself. For example, I had the opportunity to put together a “Day in the Life” vlog for Victor Oladipo, a player for the NBA’s Indiana Pacers.
I spent nearly 2 days with him, learning who he is as a person and now I’ve got footage I can look back on. I’ve also had the pleasure of creating content for Ciroc, Capitol Records, and Rene even flew me out to Miami to record footage for his new vlog.
If there is any place in the world that always has something going on, that place is definitely Los Angeles. People always associate LA with this celebrity filled, boujee lifestyle and I quickly realized it really is like that.
It was barely my 2nd month of officially living in LA when I got invited to a party at Chris Humphries’ house. It wasn’t only my first party in LA, it was also the 4th of July so I knew it was gonna be crazy! I made it my goal to just have a good time and connect with as many people as I could.
When I woke up and saw all the texts I’d gotten, I realized that I had in fact connected with so many other creatives and dope people. What I thought was going to be a regular night watching fireworks ended up being an experience of a lifetime.
In order to be the best version of myself, I constantly keep my goals at the forefront of my focus. Since living in LA, I picked up some useful habits I recommend to everyone such as reading, journaling about things that I’m grateful for and writing out my goals.
Being 21, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what my future holds for me. A few goals of mine this year include giving my energy to what makes me personally happy, staying consistent with my work, doing at least 1 thing a day that puts me outside my comfort zone, and my personal favorite, to get as swole as I can for the summertime.
For me, creating is much more than just pressing a button on a camera. Creating has been & will continue to be the reason why I push myself to get out my comfort zone. I create to not only bring mine and others ideas to life, but to inspire and positively impact others.
